For one of the items I am reviewing for Chewy.com is Zoo Med's Eco Earth. Eco Earth is the perfect bedding for tropical climate reptiles, especially ones that spend most of their time up high climbing on things, like Crested Geckos. This Eco Earth pack has 3 compressed bricks of coconut shell fibers. You place a brick in water and once it expands it makes a large amount of soil. I'm sure you are asking yourself, that's great but how does that apply to Bearded Dragons? They should have solid one piece substrate to avoid eating it and getting impacted. Well this bedding is perfect for gravid female dragons to dig in for egg laying. We have used it for this purpose for years. I would absolutely recommend Eco Earth for tropical terrarium reptiles and for gravid Bearded Dragons, it is high quality and reasonably priced. So I cleaned up my You Tube account and will be making more posts with my HD camera. I just made a post candling some eggs due this month, go check it out and subscribe! The Play Barn is a fun hide for small animals of all kinds. It is printed on cardboard, with doors that open on the back and front, and it is full of hay. The Play Barn is perfect for outside play time, just make sure you are careful with younger dragons as they can run very fast. The barn comes in 2 sizes, 3oz & 8 oz. I really love the Play Barn, and my dragons did too. It makes for some seriously adorable photos. I did receive this item free of charge form Chewy.com, in an exchange for my honest review. The Repti Calcium is a supplement that most reptiles, including Bearded Dragons, need for overall health. It should be stored in a cool, dry place, like with your herbs and spices. Dragons need this supplement frequently, check the chart here to see how often. It is easy to feed to your dragon, you can sprinkle it on feeder bugs or on salads. Zoomed makes many quality reptile products, and their Calcium with D3 is no exception. You can order it from Chewy.com and have it shipped right to your house! Michonne laid eggs finally, after what felt like forever. She laid on 5.19.17 a total of 23 eggs, though 1 appears infertile.
It took her about an hour to get them all out. They are already white and getting more solid by the day. Dragon Eggs take 60-90 days to hatch, lets hope for 60ish.
This clutch also belongs to Orange Crush, so we are hoping for some gorgeous orange babies. To learn more on Bearded Dragon Eggs Click Here.

Today was the last day of the NorCal Reptile Expo and it was a blast! There were dozens of vendors and hundreds of reptiles. There were educational/rescue reptile booths as well as breeders and vendors. My son held a snake courtesy of Shedskin Reptiles. I got to hold this amazing and sweet Tegu from For Goodness Snakes. Which was amazing because I held him years ago at my first reptile expo. I was super young and soaking wet because it was pouring out. And company called Classroom Safari was there with lots of cool animals. I bought some adorable Horny Toad jewelry from The Horny Toad Connection, And I made one reptile purchase at the show too! I bought this amazing red male breeder from Augie & Amy's Dragons. Check out the rest of the photos from the Expo in the slideshow. Thanks to everyone that I hung out with at the show! They are an awesome online pet supply store. Zilla has made a whole bunch of these munchie snack packs for a variety of reptiles & amphibians. This one I tested out is the Omnivore Mix, because of course Bearded Dragons are omnivores! The mix is a freeze dried assortment of bugs, veggies and fruits which you add water to before feeding. Lucille was hesitant at first. Most Bearded Dragons don't really like freeze dried-pre mixed foods. Then she just dove right in. She was eating it so fast that the pictures were getting blurry! I think this a mix worth buying and feeding as a snack a few times a month. It definitely should not replace fresh & live food. But it is a great back up to keep handy just in case you do run out of food, just open, pour, add water, done! They are made by Zilla and are a freeze dried snack blend that comes in a resealable bag. They have a variety of flavors and mixes to choose from. I tried out the Reptile Munchies Fruit Mix for our Sulcata Tortoise, Tuck. This mix is a blend of fruit that smells so yummy I wanted to eat it, but I didn't of course. After adding a little water to these freeze dried puffs they look like fresh cut fruit pieces. And Tuck went right for it. Now for Sulcatas fruit is only recommended on rare occasions as a snack, not as a part of their everyday diet. But Tuck sure did love it. I would recommend this product to an owner of any reptile listed in the recommendations, but it could also be a treat for Bearded Dragons too! To order this yummy product Click Here. While out in the yard gardening with Biscuit I thought I would remind everyone how important it is to have your dragon on a harness when you have them loose outside of your home. Dragons love getting natural sun and taking them outdoors is always a good idea. They are very curious reptiles and love to explore and giving them a chance to exercise is beneficial to their health.. But I strongly suggest while you have them out having some type of harness on them at all times. Dragons spook easily and also run very fast. So get outdoors this Spring, and take your dragon with you, just make sure they are safe! |
